The Development in Afghanistan from Iran's
Perspective
Mr Moosavi has been ambassador to Islamabad
(1984-89) and to New Delhi (1998-2002). From 1989-1998 he
was Director General for West Asia in the MFA, as well as
Iranian Representative in the Council of Deputies of the
Economic Cooperation Organisation, which brings together
Iran, Pakistan, Turkey and a number of Central Asian
countries including Afghanistan. During this period he was
also MFA representative on the Iranian Afghanistan Crisis
Committee. Currently he also teaches in the School of
International Relations, Tehran
