New Zealand's relations with Asia

Simon Murdoch's first overseas posting after joining the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1972 was to Canberra (1974-9). He returned to Canberra as High Commissioner in 1998. During the intervening period, amongst other things, he spent 1982-3 in the Asian Division. He was appointed Secretary of Foreign and Trade in September 2002.
