Crisis in Korea: Causes and
Prospects
Tim Beal has researched and written
extensively on Korean affairs. He has visited South Korea
six times and North Korea, twice. He is often interviewed
by the NZ and international media on North Korea. He
maintains a well-regarded website on North
Korea and co-edits the bimonthly Pyongyang
Report. As Secretary of the NZ-DPRK Society he helps
facilitate people-to people links between NZ and North
Korea.
Over the last year or so his articles on Korea have appeared in
the South Korean journals Global Economic Review and
International Journal of Korean Unification Studies, and
in the NZ Journal of Asian Studies and National
Business Review. During that period he has spoken on Korea
at conferences and seminars in Christchurch, Melbourne, London,
Beijing, Washington, Wellington, and Hawaii. In March 2003 he
is participating in a North Pacific security meeting in San
Francisco.
He is currently working on a book for Pluto Press of London
entitled North Korea's Arduous March
